End of the Year Status for JourneytoB

With only two weeks left in the year 2018, I need to look back at the progress I’ve made with JourneytoB . When creating this blog back in 2015, it served no real purpose except a platform to share my art, creativity and opinions when I felt like it. Through the years though, I’ve managed to gain over 100 followers and connect with people all over the world. What brought us together was the love for our shared content and words of wisdom. Reading each one of your posts have helped me grow while influencing myself to write more, something I’ll continue to do more of in 2019.

Towards the end of 2018, I switched to another form of writing: poetry. While talking to one of my colleagues at work one day, he noted “poetry is your pulse verbalized.” Prior to hearing that, I never thought of poetry in that manner. But when reading other poems, it made sense. Looking back, October and November were two of the roughest month’s for me, filled with heartbreaks, arguments and lies hence where my poetry began. Because of the trauma endured those months, I transferred the hurt into words filled with beautiful poetry if I say so myself.

With no set structure, JourneytoB has become a place where I now hold nothing back. As an emotional person, I tend to pour my emotions into my content. Going into 2019, I’ll continue to do that, in of course moderation, since my readers relate more to emotion which I appreciate. And though I’m past the hurt the end of 2018 left me, I still find myself connected to words of poetry and will continue writing poetry. I’m not sure if I’ll ever become successful with my poetry, but for now it helps bring fulfillment to my soul.

2018 was a year of lessons and growth. I’m excited to share with you all the good, the bad and the ugly moving forward.

Stay tuned for more.
