Another Monday to start the official work week. Oh how exciting 👎🏾 But, this past weekend turned out quite enjoyable and pleasant as I hoped. Relaxing and Intuitive. Very productive in terms of self reflection, goals and appreciation. Of course, I watched my usual Ted Talks, but I also read more than usual. Your blog posts, my current and first book in a very long time were all included.I realized and appreciated the tremendous growth I’ve put in over the last 3 years. It’s amazing what happens when you can appreciate the moments in life.
I started this blog back in 2015. It was sophomore year of college and I’d just graduated from my community college. While searching for a 4-year to transfer to, I thought Public Relations was my calling. My initial thought was to start blogging. It made sense and was a good idea, though executed horribly. I didn’t utilize this blog to the best of my abilities at the time. Too much was happening… The freedom from temporarily moving out of my parents house caught up to me. The partying and drinking got a little out of hand. I didn’t have time to blog because I became lost. My sense of self didn’t return until after graduation and still is.
Now I don’t have the most glorious job, but I have something and it came a week after graduation. It wasn’t until after life hit me, I realized what’s important, you choose who you give your time to and how you respond to this world around you. Everything was in my hands, literally. Well not all things like the random shit life throws at you, but the basic and everyday questions life gives you, is for you to decide! My current response to the world now is pretty exciting if I say so myself. I’m no better than the next person, just making the best of my life. 3 years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to picture myself where I am right now. The things I’ve accomplished and created for myself. I have:
1. Decent job
2. Few good friends
3. Ability to travel on occasion
4. Loving & supportive family members
5. A cute little blog where I come to express
The list goes on and on. As the person typing in this very moment, I see tremendous growth and empowerment in my life with what I do. Though I do have a long way to go, I pray I stay on the right path, make the best decisions for myself and stay focused on my personal goals.
